Wish list

When it comes to restoring a Porsche 911

We usually get a big list,  sometimes it is all the matching numbers and sometimes it is all the mods to be made...
In the case of this 1972,  it is going to have some serious mods to take the 3.8 engine with a monster air injection and a 6 speed.

So, this body will have to be reinforced:
1:  stitch weld the tub.
2:  reinforce the shock tower.
3:  rinforce the jack points.
4:  double the inner rocker panels.
5:  weld in strut braces.
6.  weld in section for power brakes.
7:  remove rear tray and fab custom one.
8:  remove rocker panel and fab stainless steel oil lines.
9:  remove rain gutters for a slick look.

151:  prepare for a tripple black paint.

201:  polish to the highest shine...I want to see myself !!

Looks like we have a lot to do yet, but it is coming.
Once the gaps and lines have been matched, it's all down hill from there.

Stay tune...........

all geared up....

Man !!  why is it taking so long.......

Well,  let me explain;  Some people call themselves gear heads, or weekend wrenchers,  they love that kind of stuff.....
I don't ,  we are just good at it, and on top of that, a really good deal came on this six speed transmission came along,  how can you say no,  limited slip, steel synchros on first, second, third and forth and geared to do 200 mph with no problems,  this thing was built for racing, and/or going on a trip to the Sin City.
Now, let's clean the air that is going to be forced into the turbos
Space is becoming very scarce once more elements go into this engine bay,  at this point we have to use flex 3 inch hose to be able to maneuver around  the other items that were invited to this party.  It won't be long.........

Wired

Hello...hello.....is this thing on ???

It looks like I blink once and three weeks go by.

While we were working on the air intake for our twin turbo cab, one of our team members said:  what is that electrical tape doing in that side of the loom.....??

We were so excited that all the pipes were coming together......but now we have to stop and check that electrical tape.

Oh boy, it seems like in its traveling through the various shops of the Sutherland, it encountered a crimping monster.........why am I not surprised ??

Rather than to find who to blame, let's take of the problem shall we........
Since we are replacing and adding some items that require disconnection every now and them. we will go with the ones that would do quality work, easy to use and nice looking too .

After removing the section of the harness that had been cut and crimp, we are left with a little shorter section.....not to worry, we will rerouted to make look good.
Deutsch connector are going to be our choice.

Rolling down the highway......

....not quite yet, but we are getting there.
After changing everything on this old body and giving it a new face lift, a tummy tuck and some botox,
A new wardrobe has been added to this body in the shape of 993 interior, gauges and oil tank, a boxster roll bar that has been modified to fit this body
Now we need accessories.......
Sometimes I see my wife looking at a pair of earrings for the longest time, it makes me wonder what the heck I am doing at at the mall, not shopping.

But this is the way you buy rims, they can make your car or .....not
Another thing to consider is that size does matter, as well as offset,  what size wheel to get, and what size rubber........decisions, decisions , decisions,  can't use fuchs wheels, that would not go with our reinvented body
We used one of our  client's wheels to measure, and it was a good fit, but even though the ride is down in a non operating state, the set is not for sale.
We did found the name of the wheel, now the mission is, should you chose to accept it, to find out if it is still available.

Out of body experience

It seems like our movie star is going to collect one more part, one very important part.

All that running around making his presence felt has left him clutch less, his powerband does not surpass the 400hp, pity, that is where the fun is.

So up we go, it's time to let doctor operate.

The "while you're there" bug always pays a visit and the temptation of adding a few more things is gaining momentum, a limited slip and alcohol injection have been on the wish list, who knows, maybe we can proceed to check out
In the meantime, let's add some real clamping power and keep the rubber on the ground.  We had one our vendors build us a dual face Kevlar disc and a heavy duty pressure plate.......that ought to work out your leg muscles.  I don't think my chicken legs can handle that.

When this ride was called the 75 beast on TV, it really didn't show how wild of a beast it really is,  but here you can see it in all it's nakedness,  intercoolers stayed on the car of course, the twins breath through 3 inch pipes and their oil feed get monitored, as well as the engine pressure by mechanical gauges....it's a Hot Rod kind of thing.
It is still using the stock fuel rails and pressure regulators, so we also monitor the fuel the same way.
We may have to add something to the wish list......
