It's all in your head............s

Do you want to ride the Kroken ?

That has been the question of the week, those who has ridden it became 5 year old kids, some have been scared and some still have a big grin on their faces.
Being that we hardly have any boost on this air cooled turbo charged cab, the critics have shown their presence and wonder why this ride is so wild.

The crankshaft and it's 6 friends give it that torquing feeling...aka  .... headbanging. !

But the real power comes from the heads, they are the key in making horsepower, they determine how much air goes in and out of any motor.

I said it before and I say it again......breath baby ...breath
The Boss uses 28 inches of water to flow heads, at this pressure the CFMs will maximized the horsepower of any engine, and with the right amount of fuel and timing........put your arms up and enjoy the ride.

Release the Kraken.........

To amuse ourselves, we give each car a nickname,  and when this customer ask the Boss to build a monster motor.....well, we thought of when it would be released.

When the boss started writing the symphony of power, we expected a nice ballad, instead we got a head banging heavy metal number one hit.

At the first test drive, it twisted the shock tower, so back in the shop it went, reinforce the cab, give it some big brakes, and coil overs and huge sway bars to keep it level.

To maximize the power band of this 3.576 liter beast, we had the crankshaft stroked 0.079 mm, dressed it with 3 liter offset bushed connecting rods, this combination allow the piston to dwell longer at top of the barrel crating a longer explosion.
Twin plugged, flame ringed and ported heads let it breath to make this power run smooth.

We gave it alcohol injection and manual boost controller, but in all honesty, I don't think it needs it;  At 3 pounds of boost the tires leave the ground.
This dyno run was the first one, and some the ponies we still in the barn, in a weeks time a new dyno run will take place, it is then when we will release the Kraken.....

What a head case !!

Every one knows that oxygen is what gives you life, gives you power.......

The expression "walking on thin air" is only true to humans, our interaction with air give us the impression that it is almost non-existent, but only because we move so slow,  actually, some slower that others.

A fast moving object can find air a difficult substance to maneuver through,  what can give you speed and power can also chock you and slow you down...................breath baby, breath.

Most engines denied themselves the horsepower simply by the lack of air,  stock cylinder heads are usually suboptimal, sometimes due to design or manufacturing restrains.

I got three words for you:  Porting, porting, porting.
Improving the flow of air through the heads will bring any engine to its highest level of efficiency.  More air, more power;  After all, can you run a marathon with something stuffed up your nose ???

A stock factory turbo came at 265 hp, if we can modify the intake and exhaust ports  of the internal combustion and improve the quality and the quantity of the air flow.....
We can improve the wild ponies driving Big Red away...

and when the Boss flow bench those heads.....................................stay tuned.
